Historical: From a typescript note on back of mount of a duplicate photograph: "This picture was made at the time Buckwaller made his moving picture film which Roosevelt ordered destroyed. In the picture is shown the horse ridden by Miss Gertrude Dunn, who without invitation, forced herself between the President and P.B. Stewart. President Roosevelt was so incensed over the matter that he ordered that this negative be either destoryed or the young woman's likeness removed therefrom, and this has been done by the photographer." The alteration of the negative can be seen in the image.
